Hello, friend! If you're like me, your pincushion always gets lost in the middle of a sewing project which is when you need it most! So I set out to find a solution, and here it is! A pincushion that ties onto your sewing machine. It's such a great idea and I had to share it with you! This convenient pincushion keeps your pins at hand.
Supplies:
-Scrap fabric
-ribbon or elastic
-polyester fiberfill
-hot glue (optional)
-Scrap fabric

Cut your fabric into a piece of 4x7".
Place your 14" piece of elastic (or ribbon) like shown below.
Fold and pin.
Sew 2 sides, leaving the side where the elastic is coming out open.
It should look like this.
Now turn it inside out and fill with polyester fiberfill, almost filling to the top but not quite.
Fold in the raw edges like below.
Hot Glue (or sew) another piece of 14" elastic in there. Glue (or sew) the end shut.
To keep the ends from fraying, put a smidge of hot glue on them.
You're done! Yay! Now you have your very own handy sewing machine pincushion made by YOU! Just tie it onto your sewing machine. If you do not sew, I have a similar pincushion for sale here. I'd love to see your lovely creations. Just tag a picture of them on twitter with #SewingwithJulie! Bye!
